Oakville’s Canada Day celebration at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park has been cancelled for 2026. Sign this petition to support keeping this important community tradition alive.

For many Oakville families, Canada Day at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park has long been a community tradition. It is a day when residents come together to celebrate our country with neighbours and friends.

On Feb. 23, Town Council voted to cancel the traditional Canada Day celebration at Bronte for 2026. Council also chose not to move the event to Coronation Park, which had been recommended by staff.

There are concerns about large evening crowds of teens misbehaving and misusing firework. These concerns should be addressed, but cancelling the celebration altogether should not be the answer.

This petition calls on the Halton Police Board to commit the resources necessary to ensure the event can be held safely, and on Oakville Town Council to reconsider its decision and approve the return of the Canada Day celebration at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park in 2026.

By signing this petition, you are asking the police and town council to help keep Canada Day in Oakville and ensuring that our community can continue this important tradition for years to come.
