Demand Fair Access to Voting in Vancouver

Voting is a fundamental democratic right, and every Vancouverite deserves fair access to the ballot box.

In the 2025 Vancouver municipal by-election, the city operated only 25 voting locations. That was down from 50 in the 2017 by-election, 104 in 2022 and 122 in 2018 civic elections. Fewer voting locations in 2025 resulted in longer lines, overcrowding and unnecessary barriers for voters.

The uneven distribution of voting locations across the city is also concerning. 

Last year, there were only four voting stations on the west side of the city.

Vancouverites should not have to spend hours waiting to vote or travel unreasonable distances just to cast a ballot. Elections must be accessible, efficient and fairly administered in every neighbourhood.

We are calling on the City of Vancouver to commit to running a fair municipal election on October 17 with 125 voting locations evenly distributed across the city. Sign the petition below and help protect fair access to voting for all Vancouverites.
