We're Not Buying It on October 28th!

We're Not Buying It created this petition addressed to the UK government on 10/01/2026

Purchasing power

Don't buy from supermarkets on budget day, Wednesday October 28th.

Fed up of unfair food prices? They need to cap it. The UK government must put an end to skyrocketing prices of food and essentials and introduce price caps.

Affordable food shouldn't be too much to ask–it's the bare minimum. Yet by November, food prices will have risen 50% since 2021.

With upcoming food shortages and half of us already living paycheck to paycheck, the problem is only going to get worse.

We're all getting ripped off. Farmers are saying they can't grow food next year, and the government’s solution to this is to tell us to start stockpiling food whilst the supermarkets are raking in record profits! We're struggling to afford our shopping, how can we start stockpiling?

Our government must do their job. We demand an immediate price cap on essential food items as part of the next budget.

Join us to put pressure on the government by not buying from supermarkets on budget day, October 28th. Let's send them a message that if they don't cap it, we're not buying it!

Pledge not to buy on October 28th!
